How many legs does an octopus have?

EIGHT!

Keller cracks me up with this! She has all kinds of bath toys, one being an octopus! A couple of weeks ago I started asking her "How many legs does an octopus have?" She would look at me and kick her legs and I would say "Eight!" Well, the other night when I was giving her a bath, she was putting all of her little animals on the side of the tub. I decided to ask her what each of them were... Hippo, elephant (roll tide), bear, duck, frog, seal, octopus... She named every single one of them! When I asked her how many legs the octopus had she shouted "EIGHT!" Yep, proud mama here! =) Does she know what it means? Probably not..but we're learning! She amazes me everyday with something new! I could kick myself for not keeping up a journal of all of these first time things, but being a mom is a lot busier than I thought! New found love for my own mom! {{hugs}}

Welcome.....

October!! Here we go! Full swing into candy corn eating, pumpkin carving, costume wearing, trick or treating, latte sipping, leaf falling, football watching time of the year!
Oh how I love thee!!
Today has been a fabulous Friday! And it's almost over! We're going to eat dinner with some even more fabulous friends at Rocky Creek Catfish House in Lucedale, MS! We'll get to sit on the front porch and rock in this fabulous weather until our table is ready! Have I over used the word "fabulous" today?? Probably so, but I'm tellin' ya...I LOVE this time of year! I think we may go pick out some pumpkins tomorrow! Then it's GAME TIME! Alabama vs. Florida!
ROLL TIDE! (can't wait to yell Rammer Jammer!)

It's the most....

wonderful time of the year! Oh, how I love fall! Pumpkins, cool weather, the RED cups at Starbucks (you know what I'm talking about!!), football, sweaters, scarecrows, holiday festivities, not to mention Keller's new fall wardrobe! Yes, I've already bought 90% of it! We're just lacking striped tights to go with her dresses! I just love dressing that sweet girl!

We bought a scarecrow a couple of days ago for our front porch! (We throw them away every year since they've been outside and get all yucky..) Pumpkins are next, then mums, then who knows! I love decorating for fall! Hmmm....this is making me think of stopping for a pumpkin spice latte on the way home! I had one for the first time last week and I can't believe I've been missing out on those all this time! Mmmm.... That would go fabulously with the yummy smelling pumpkin bread that Matthew and Suzanne brought us Tuesday night... Yep, I believe I will! Cool weather is so exciting!

A sad day at the White house...

After a 2 month struggle with lymphoma we had to put our baby boy Bailey (a 4 year old black lab) to rest. He was the sweetest dog ever and absolutely perfect for us. We tried everything we knew possible, including chemo, but after a month that began to have a negative effect. He always had the sweetest temperament. In his last couple of weeks with us he was inside so we could keep him comfortable. He endured some tail pulling and playful smacks from Keller and never once acted aggravated by them! He often got her dinner leftovers as she threw them to him out of her high chair and said "Bay Bay!"
After leaving the vets office (George County Vet in Lucedale in which we HIGHLY recommend) we took him home and buried him, grabbed some lunch and spent the rest of the day together. We decided to stop in Hobby Lobby on the way to get groceries where Tyler decided to get Keller a small stuffed black dog in which she now refers to as Bay Bay. It breaks my heart to know that she won't grow up with him.. Eventually we'll get another puppy although I'm not sure when. It might be a while.. This is the second dog we've lost in the past year. (both black labs) Good old Skillet had a heart attack a few months back out of the blue while playing with Bailey in the back yard.
We are deeply saddened by our loss... Here are a few pictures of him back in his healthy days! We'll miss you buddy...
