Home Tour Tuesday!

Get busy go to FF&P's or Webbisodes site and link up!!!

My Peaceful Place... Well, considering I have a 17 month old little girl, not many places are peaceful! She's learning to walk so she's always pulling on my pants leg saying "stand up!" or constantly calling me! I would have to say, the most peaceful time in the White house is when I'm rocking her to sleep in the living room!
A close runner up would be our front yard.. Tyler, Keller, Hardy and I spent a lot of time out there this past spring and fall. We would throw a blanket out and take some toys and just relax! Keller loves it outside!
Coffee by the Christmas tree is pretty peaceful too, if I must say so!

There's nothing more peaceful than a happy home! =)

The weekend in review:

Well, we had a fantastic Thanksgiving with family and friends! Mom and dad went over and above the thanksgiving dinner call of duty! Everything was delicious! I contributed a green bean casserole since that's Tyler's favorite. It actually turned out really good! and it was the easiest thing to make!

Ok, let's start from the beginning... Wednesday Tyler was at "work and helping his dad fix the boat that evening" so I stayed at my parents for dinner and did the grocery store thing. I got home at 9:30 to find Tyler had been home all day fixing the flooring in our bedroom and painting it too! Something we've been wanting to do for a while now! =) I'm one lucky/happy girl! Needless to say, the house was upside down and we had company coming Friday afternoon for the iron bowl... So, we got a few things done Wednesday night, a little Thursday evening and the rest of the tail bustin' was done Friday! It was presentable, well, half of it! We watched the game, ate some dinner and hung out with family. Keller went to bed at 8:30, woke up at 10:30 and went back to bed at 1:30.. OMG.. At least she slept til after 9:00. Chilled out with Keller this morning while Tyler went fishing with his dad, then a late lunch with mom at Big Time Diner, then grocery shopping with Kell Bell, dinner (fresh speckled trout) with Mark as we watch the Egg Bowl. whew..

Tomorrow is church then shopping! {yawn}

2 peas in a pod!
happy baby in the morning!
happy turkey day!
chicken & dumplins
Keller's thanksgiving feast! mac 'n cheese!!

dressing! didn't get many pics, they were ready to dig in!
like mother, like daughter!

after destroying the junk mail, she fell asleep sitting up..
"reading" a magazine while we wait on the bath water, what can I say? she has good taste!
I was cleaning up her room and walked into the living room to find this! I think it's nap time!
Our dinner friday night! yumm..

I'm sooooo looking forward to a 4 day weekend! Whew! My desk is clean! I'm ready to go! =) I've got some little Thanksgiving cheer to hand out to my neighbors! I really have some fantastic neighbors.. I really couldn't ask for much better! So, I got them all a loaf of gourmet sweet bread from The Fresh Market yesterday and stuck a little card with it and tied a ribbon on them! I hope they enjoy! =) As for you all, I hope you have a very happy thanksgiving!
Be blessed!

thankfulness...

Ok, so I haven't posted in a little less than a week.. I hate when I go that long! Anywho.. Who's decorating for Christmas already??!! Some people wonder why some put their decorations up before Thanksgiving and "skip" Thanksgiving. Well, I don't necessarilly think of it as "skipping Thanksgiving." To me it's about atmosphere, aesthetics, the beauty and joy of everythin red and green! I LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME! I love the music, the lights, the tree farms, etc etc... I'm not skipping Thanksgiving! I walk in thankfulness year round! To my family, my Savior, my friends.. As far as the decorating goes, what the heck are you supposed to decorate for thanksgiving with?! I'm not a huge fan of pilgrim statues and such... I keep my pumpkins and scarecrow at my front door until thanksgiving, yes, I spare my neighbors until the day after at least! Yes, my mantle is decorated except for the stockings and yes, the tree is planning to be up tonight! We have company coming the day after thanksgiving through the weekend and the boxes of Christmas decor is piled to the roof in the spare bedroom! I guess that means I'll have to put it all out so the boxes can go back in the attic! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! =) Anyway, I'm thankful to say the least! I'm thankful for my family! I have a PRECIOUS little girl that couldn't be any sweeter and cuter! I have a wonderful husband who backs me 100% in all of my endeavors and is there for me every step of the way! I have a fantastic set of parents that raised me right and continue to pour their heart and souls into my life! I have a fabulous sister that I can always lean on and I'm pretty sure she feels the same way and that dyes her hair every other day! (if you don't stop you're gonna look like maw maw did that time with purple hair!) I have great inlaws that will let me talk their ears off every afternoon on the way home, who can come over and watch a ball game and I don't have to clean my house and who love us unconditionally! I could go on forever! I am a BLESSED woman! Ok, so now that I'm teary eyed... Ha!

Enough with all that! Try some chocolate covered bacon! It will change your life! ;-)

Week 6 of my diet schmiet! 20 pounds lost! Yes, you read it right! The big 2 - 0! WAHOO!

See you tomorrow for Home Tour Tuesday with Flip Flops and Pearls and Webbisodes! It's 2 things you're thankful for! Link-up on FF&P's site!

Current Read:

Love Louie Giglio! This next pic is the first paragraph of the book! So far, so good!

Home Tour Tuesday - on Wednesday--read on...

I know it's Wednedsay... I got all of my pics taken, uploaded to the computer, and the blog open when my 16 month old fell down, got up and projectile vomited all over me.. Needless to say, she ended up in the bath tub, I ended up in the shower and then around 11:30, while watching none other than Nemo finally fell asleep.. I went to bed. I'd had enough for the night. So, I know it's late, and I missed the link up, but better late than never, right?! Here ya go!

KITCHENS!

This is where we spend a lot of time!

Love my "W!" Got it at Anthropologie on a recent trip to Ridgeland! The Fleur de lis came from a potter in NOLA called Pots a Lot! Love his shop! He's often at the Peter Anderson Art Festival in Ocean Springs in the fall.

A few of many!

This will be our dinner tonight! It didn't finish 'til almost midnight, and after the events of the evening, needless to say it went in the fridge.. Crawfish etouffee stuffed chicken (from Lad & Dad's- no I didn't make it..)

More cook books! (and pottery)

Probably the most used item in my kitchen! My mom handwrote this cook book of all of my favorite recipes! This is the second one she's done, since the first one was ruined by something that spilled on the counter. LOVE LOVE LOVE this thing and her!!

Keller's corner! =) An old window that was transformed into a cork/chalk board for her up coming artwork! (and her highchair)

My kitchen wouldn't be complete without a T.Keller painting! =) and funky salt and pepper grinders

One side! My other side pic didn't upload last night =/

Keller playing in her cabinet!

I apparently had major uploading issues, seeing as how I just noticed several missing pics. bleh. My coffee station is on the left, with a lovely angel painting, and pottery canister, cookie jar on the right and I'm sure my dish towel that's supposed to be on the towel bar, is in the cabinet Keller is playing in! It never stays put! =)

My windowsill. I don't like when it gets dark early because I can't see out! Well, until the Christmas lights get put up, then there's the warm and cozy feeling! I just planted lavender in the copper pot, we shall see how that goes. Tyler asked me if I had tried to grow something and killed it before he even noticed the pot was there! good grief.. =) Keller's handprint, a P.M.S. Tyler candle - smells like chocolate! The little silver square says "If you can laugh at it, you can live with it" Oh so true!

My favority kitchen accessory! The little munchkin that flings the tupperware across the room and giggles!

Constant reminders of NOLA throughout my kitchen. Picked this up at Central Grocery last December on Tyler's company Christmas trip, along with a couple of muffaletta's! Mmmm... Now I want one!

Now for the recipe!

Ingredients:
1# mild italian sausage
1 medium onion
1 large can whole tomatoes
1 can black beans
2 cans butter beans
1 can chicken broth
1 pkg fresh basil
1/2 head of garlic
2T parmesean cheese
Directions:

I really wish I had a picture for you! It's a very pretty soup!
