I'm goin to Jackson...

On the way to Jackson! Stopped in Hattiesburg at Gander Mountain and shopped a little for Hardy then a quick dinner at a little place that was a lot like Moe's... Probably shouldn't have gone there, but not much quick healthy food to choose from in the big ole city of Hattiesburg! Anyway, we'll be in Jax/Brandon soon enough!

I'm sure hoping Keller sleeps good tonight so we can get up and hit the shops in the morning! Excited about checking out a little shop named Smitten and then the usual at Highland Village! Hopefully we'll have enough time before the party! But for now it's drive drive drive... Blah... :-/ veggie tales are keeping us all awake though! :-)

Keller playing with a wipe.. She's tired of all of her toys already! It's the little things.. ;-)

Metroelectro and honeycrisp..my 2 new faves!

Ok, so have I mentioned lately haw much I LOVE honeycrisp apples??! OMG.. They are fantastic! And a friend was talking about metroelectro water the other day so I decided to try it too! I do not like Evian, but I like Fuji, however their bottles are not compatible with my cup holders in the car.. dislike. But metroelectro is pretty darn good! {Thanks Daph!} So I stopped by Fresh Market for lunch and got a wrap, water and a few apples! =)

I also picked up some of this... I'm gonna give it a try soon!

It's Friday and all is done in my little corner of the office, my desk is somewhat CLEAN! PTL! Hoping to get outta here a little early today so I can get home and pack before Tyler gets there. We're going to Jackson {Yes, I have that song stuck in my head} to visit Tyler's family! This will be their first time to meet Hardy! sweet boy... Anywho, I still have to pack my stuff! Keller is packed, and Hardy is packed ;-)

Tyler had his Alabama mortgage licensing test today and he PASSED! It's supposed to be the hardest one of the 3 he's already taken for various gulf coast states, and he PASSED! Did you hear me??!!! =) So proud of him!

On a lighter note.. It pays to eat right! So proud of myself for using WILLPOWER over the past 3 weeks! =) So worth it and I feel so much better!

I've lost

pounds in the past 3 weeks!!! WAHOO!!!

These 2 photos were my views on the way home yesterday, both are priceless! =)

Last nights weather here in Mobile was CRAZY! Thankfully it all started in the wee hours of the night, but nonetheless I was awake.. We went to our Dave Ramsay class at church, had to skip out to take a couple of shots of a sweet family that's moving away.. =/ But it's for a fabulous opportunity, so I wish them all the best! Then on to San Miguels with another sweet couple that we always have a few laughs with! Keller decided she wanted to play the drums on the table with the silverware so I'm not sure if we'll ever be invited to dinner with them again.. Ha! just kiddin... =) Then home where the child fell asleep at 10:45!!! WHAT!!!!! Hallelujah! She's a night owl like Tyler and I, so I can't say much.. She's such a sweet girl! Then at 3:30....she woke up SCREAMING. I think it was a bad dream.. She was laying on her back, and she H.A.T.E.S that. Anywho, I rocked her back to sleep then KABOOM! The house shook! And it all started.. I woke up, she didn't. I put her in the bed with us in fear that if I put her in her bed that she would wake up. So, she snuggled up to Tyler and off to sleepyland! We all slept great from there on out! I didn't have to be at work until mid day since mom was going to the dr, so I went and got me a little somethin somethin.. =) Feast your eyes... LOVE IT.. the K is obviously for Keller, they didn't have a T... Maybe next time! Off to go pick up KB, then to Target for groceries! My FIL is bringing dinner tonight so I don't have to cook!
Ok, so I didn't think there was anything I really wanted for Christmas... well, I was wrong! HA!I've seen a couple of A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E things lately! Ok, so here goes nothing! Dear Santa... hint hint... ;-)

The weekend is over and Monday looms..

Happy Monday everyone!
We had a great weekend! We spent Friday night at home! Did you hear me? HOME! WOW! We never do that! We made us a grilled shrimp salad for dinner and hung out and watched cartoons, played with Keller and Hardy, and just had a relaxing evening.
I am pleased to say that Keller slept until 10:00 Saturday morning and so did mommy! Man! A weekend of firsts! ha! The picture to the left is of her sitting on the couch with daddy watching cartoons {Mickey Mouse Club} and reading a book, multi-tasking already!

We got up and cleaned the house, rearranged the living room {which Tyler found quite humorous.. he said he can't go outside for an hour without coming in the house to something being moved around! Ha! I told him it happens when I deep clean! I have to move the rug completely to sweep and mop under it, and that entails moving the couch, bookshelf, etc! Thank goodness for wood floors! =) } , washed and folded all the laundry, took some pics of Keller outside with our pumpkins in her adorable outfit that mom made her! {We decided to go ahead and do that since the forecast for Sunday was rain!}

We walked outside and she saw the pumpkins and all she said was "punkin" the whole time I took her picture! I wish ya'll could hear her say it! It's too funny! After that little miss went down for a nap and I finished my cleaning. Mark, Jarrett, Blake and Holly came over for the Bama game and and dinner at which Tyer had a fabulous idea for the tuna we were grilling that he and Mark saw on the food network the previous weekend! Here's the link to the recipe we used! http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/grilled-tuna-rolls-recipe/index.html They were really good! If you do the recipe, go a little lighter on the lime juice than it says. Other than that YUM! Kudos to the cooks!

Church was pretty fabulous too! Tyler led a couple of songs and did a FANTASTIC job! I haven't heard him sing in what seems like a month of Sundays... I was holding Keller during the worship service and she was looking all around, and as soon as she heard Tyler she whipped her head around and zoned into him! She looked at me and said Daddy! =) Melts my heart.. While singing his second song she fell asleep on my shoulder.. tears were streaming.. enough said.. I.AM.BLESSED.

Leftovers for lunch at the house, then we were planning to go to the pumpkin patch, which was nixed because it started raining on the way there.. Thankful for the rain since it hasn't rained in a month! Instead it was a Starbucks cinnamon dolce latte, Babies R Us, San Miguel run! =) Needless to say, we'll be doing the pumpkin patch after work sometime this week! This was her when we were on the way to the pumpkin patch, and yes that's a bow in her hair! I put it in, distracted her for about 3 minutes by putting lotion on her hands, and giving Tyler strict instructions to not let her see herself in the mirror on the way to putting her in the car! It only lasted about an hour though, then she found it! That child hates having bows, clips, anything onher head! I'm praying about that.. ;-)

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Can't wait to read about them!

Only 2 days left til the weekend! Thank you Jesus! Today hasn't been bad, but I sure can't wait til the weekend! We've been doing the Dave Ramsay class at church, so we went to that tonight. I love the class, but Keller being in there with us this time was a bit of a distraction... Needless to say I didn't get much out of it tonight! We skipped our group time since Keller decided to be a whiney hiney.. =) So we grabbed some mexican and headed home. Keller is currently very sleepy, therefore sitting in the floor whining. I ask her what she wants and she responds "want a cookie" lol! That's her answer every time I ask that question! It cracks me up! Hardy's just hanging out laying on the floor and Tyler's having ice cream.. I was hoping to get in bed at a decent hour tonight, but it doesn't look like that's gonna happen! Oh, and Hardy is growing like a weed! =) G'nite guys! Time to watch cartoons to see if little bit will go to sleep!

As much as I take pictures, I rarely take the opportunity to take pictures of my very own beautiful mess! I vow to do better! I love this sweet face!

WOW! What a day!

Today has been absolutley crazy at work! Billing contracts all day long and they just made it in the mail! Now to breathe a sigh of relief for a while! Whew!

We had a great weekend! I did a shoot in a cotton field Saturday morning, then went downtown and spent the day gallavanting with mom and Keller! We hit the market at Cathedral Square, then a few cool shops! Lots of picture taking for mom to paint, lunch at Island Thyme (where hte waiter shouldn't have been a waiter), ran by Kidz Klozet (again) and then home to watch the game! Mom finally got to meet Hardy too! So sweet... On a bad note, Keller has yet another abcess.. =( Sooooo sick of those things..

Sunday was pretty great too! Awesome service at church about the Holy Spirit then home to spend the day outside with Keller! She loves it outside! We had a blast! Hardy came and napped while we played!

And today is the dreaded Monday that flew by for me because I had a deadline to meet! Just barely met it! But...Monday is almost OVER!! YAY!!

Some thing never change, but I will!

What a beautiful day it is! I so wish I had my camera in the car! I'm hoping to get some new portraits of Keller done this weekend.. It's been long enough! I have a great camera that was bought for the purpose of taking pictures of her, however I've used it more for others and it's time to back up a bit!! =) I love that sweet girl!

I had a revelation the other day... I was reading a parenting magazine and it was talking about your 14 month olds eating habits. It said that she should be able to eat little bits of what I was eating, just to make sure it was cut up well. My thought... I don't want her eating what I eat! I don't eat good! Revelation: Change your lifestyle/habits to reflect what you want your daughter to grow up doing/eating, etc... WOW... So, with that being said, last Friday it all started! I cut out the cokes/diet cokes to 1 a day, cut out the sugars except for fruits and the bread except for 3 single servings a day, eat more veggies, grilled foods, fruits, etc.. So far so good! I feel MUCH better! The exercise part is starting this week! This past week we got our new puppy, Hardy, so it's time to train him to walk on a leash! I'll keep you informed of my progress, but I'm really looking forward to this being a new beginning for the White house!

Until next time... Have a great weekend!

Hello, my name is....

HARDY! We decided on Hardy instead of Tucker, Bentley or Quimby.. We tossed around a bazillion names but none of them really fit him! We're excited about this sweet boy joining our little family! He's very playful, but calm when he needs to be! He's slept by our bed for the past couple of nights without getting up for anything! (i.e. peeing on the floor!) YES! He layed on the bathroom floor while Keller played in the tub and layed on her rug while I was getting her ready for bed.. I think he's going to be great with her! I think we did the right thing when we decided to surpass the real puppy stage.. I know he's still a puppy, but he's old enough to start learning everything he needs to know! Good call dad (Tyler)! =) I really couldn't be happier with him! He does, however, have beg shoes to fill... We miss our Bailey so much.. Another reason we didn't name him Bentley is because it's just a little too close to Bailey. You'll be seeing lots more photos of him as time goes by! Can't wait to take some pics of him and Keller together!

Drumroll Please....

I would like to welcome the newest member of our family!
(he doesn't have a name yet!!)

He is a sweet, 5 month old chocolate lab! I'm sure I'll have more pictures soon! I can't wait for his first photo shoot! =)

10/10/2010

Today has been great! For the most part we were all at home enjoying each other! What more could I have asked for?! Keller has her appetite and a little of her sass back! ;-) I'm kidding! She's such a sweet girl! Fever free, vomit free, and she's off to sleepytown now! We spent a few hours out in the front yard today and visited with our wonderful neighbors and played on our picnic blanket. We then came in and whipped up some lunch for all of us before Tyler got home from church. He walked in and the chicken was ready to hit the grill! The sauteed okra was almost done, the biscuits were about to come out of the oven and the lima beans were simmering! He finished the chicken and the only thing that made the meal even more fabulous was the sweet potato butter my mom made last week! OMG! It was soooo good!

Check out the recipe here:

http://paletteandcanvas.blogspot.com/2010/10/sweet-potato-heaven.html

We visited a while with my sister who stopped by for a bit and then it was off to the grocery store for me! It's been a while since I've grocery shopped without Keller! It was a bit strange! Oh, how I love that girl! I came back and fixed us a turkey sandwich and everyone is about to be off to bed! I'm currently downloading all of the pictures from my mini sessions yesterday! Can't wait to get to work on those! We had a blast! But for now, I'm off to bed! Lots to do tomorrow at the office! G'nite guys!

It's Finally Friday! (and gettin' close to quittin' time!)

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday! It's after lunch and we get outta here at 4:00 on Fridays! Keller will be getting here around 3:00 so I'm pretty excited! All is well at the White house today! I think Keller may be over her crud or whatever has been wrong the past few days.. We think she's teething, but I think she may have had a touch of a virus on top of that or maybe too much drool mixed with her formula caused her to PROJECTILE vomit all over me last night! I always thought "I will throw up if she throws up on me!" I have a weak stomach when it comes to raunchy smells.. However, I did great! Applause!! I guess when your baby is going through something they've never really been through before it scares them and you feel helpless! Keller will be 15 months old next Wednesday and she hasn't thrown up/spit up since she was itty bitty! Thank you, Jesus! Soon after all of the mayhem she was smiling and laughing just as she was prior to! I'm so blessed to have such a happy baby girl! She woke up this morning fever free and happy as a lark! So, I'm guessing we'll have a fabulous weekend! The in-laws are coming in tonight and staying through the weekend, so we'll be busy! Saturday consists of mini photo sessions until 3:00 that I'm very much looking forward to! Other than that, I'll leave you on this note! Roll Tide! =)

Say Cheese!!!

Those of you who know me know I love, love, love to take pictures! I love to capture every little detail of every little thing. My husband upgraded my Nikon D40 to the Nikon D5000 a year or so ago and I absolutley love that thing! I took pictures of everything! People, architecture, nature, etc, ect.. I, about 6 months ago, ventured out to start a small "business" called Soulshine Gallery. I have done many portraits and a couple of weddings so far and although it's a "job" it's been fun so far! I'm very much a "people-person" so that makes things a little easier. I have a lot of encouragement from friends and family, so I push on full speed ahead! I actually have 7 mini sessions scheduled for this Saturday! It's be a fun and exhausting day! I pray this passion and hobby never turns out to be something I dread.. Which reminds me, I really need to take a few more of Keller before she turns 2! lol! I rarely take good pictures of her..it's normally with my iPhone! (some of those are priceless though!) You should check out my photography blog! http://www.soulshinegallery.blogspot.com/! (it's on facebook too!)

Ya know... It's really a huge release to blog.. It makes me feel better after I do. I don't know why.. I guess to know that one day my family can look over it and smile at my happy moments and cry through my sad ones! =) I'm thinking of posting a list of "things that make me smile!" It just makes me happy thinking about it! Also...I was thinking about this last night and thought it would be different and potentially really fun! A purse swap! Everyone would bring a purse that you no longer use, but that you wouldn't mind still using (not something raggedy) and it would be kind of a "dirty santa" game thingy to swap them! Like I said, something different and fun! What do you think? Would you be game? Leave a comment here or email me at jennifer@metroglass.net to let me know what you think! It would probably take place on a week night maybe next month!
Peace and Blessings!

Pandora -- as in the jewelry...not the internet radio!

Lookie lookie what I started! I'm so excited to get my first Pandora bracelet started! I'm trying to keep it simple...no danglies or outlandish beads... that way I can wear it with everything and it won't be to casual or too dressy! So far so good! I was going to go for the leather band, but the girls at Objects said I could only put about 8 beads on it.. humph.. so I went for the classic silver instead! Here's to another adventure! =)Yesterday was absolutely beautiful on the gulf coast! I spent the day with Keller as we cleaned up the house and did a little galavanting around town! We decided on a whim to go visit Tyler (across the bay) and shop around the Eastern Shore Center for a bit. We also visited a couple of little shops in West Mobile.. First one being Marcie & Me on Dawes Road. I put Keller in her little umbrella stroller and we proceeded to shop...or so wo thought.. I could barely maneuver her around in the dang stroller!! I was planning to start my bracelet there, but when I walked in and boxes were all stacked in front of the display I thought twice. =/ They have cute things there! So..on with our adventure! We went across the street to Freckles! I found an adorable old green window that had been redone with chalk/cork boards! I'm planning to hang it in my kitchen to hang Keller's future fabulous artwork on!

It was then that we decided to hit the Eastern Shore Center! Objects over there is my all time favorite store in that area which is where I started my new fetish!! (I welcome other ideas as to where I should try next!) We visited Tyler while we were over there, then we decided Keller needed a short cat nap in the car, so we made the trek back over to Mobile where I needed to pick up my check from Kidz Klozet which was my first consignment adventure! I made over $500! Holy CRAP! I never expected that! Then off to Big Time Diner for dinner with Keller, mom and Tyler!

Monday Monday la la la la.....

Tomorrow I'm off work and I get to spend the day with my lovely Keller-bug... What to do... what to do... I'm NOT a homebody, so on beautiful days, especially if it's anything like it has been the past couple of days, we're going outdoors! Whether it's downtown to have brunch at Spot of Tea (and no, I'm not ashamed to go sit and eat at a restaurant with just me and Keller) or to the Eastern Shore Centre to shop and have lunch with my hubby.. We'll be doing something where we can enjoy this lovely fall weather! But for now....It's 5:00!! Wahoo!! Heading to pick up the munchkin then home to make chicken and dumplings with my bestie and watch The Event!

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood!

Well, today I found myself reading over the older entries of this blog and needless to say there were a lot of things that I missed out on writing about! It's kinda sad to me! I enjoyed reading about her milestones even before she was born! I MUST DO A BETTER JOB OF BLOGGING!

So... We had a fantastic weekend! The weather was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I got to spend all weekend with Tyler and Keller! Woohoo!

To begin... Friday night Tyler, Keller and I went to eat dinner with some fabulous folks! Janet, Jamie, Garrett and Mary Claire! We all went to Rocky Creek Catfish in Lucedale! We had a great time and laughed our faces off! And I thought I was crazy!! =) Here's a picture of the gang courtesy of Garrett's phone!

Saturday we had brunch at Spot of Tea in Cathedral Square, then we went to scope out a new spot to do next Saturday's mini sessions since a wedding popped up at MBG.. This place is going to be fabulous though! I can just feel it! =) Then we went and got some PUMPKINS! Oh, fall...how I love thee!! Then off to Shoe Station where Mark met us to bless us with buying some shoes for us all! Then off to the house to get some dinner ready for the Bama game! But first, hang out outside and blow bubbles with Keller! She loved them! We had some fabulous steaks cooked by Chef Tyler! ...and Bama stomped on the Florida Gators! Roll tide!

Sunday was just a great! We went to the early service at church where Bro. Dick spoke about his new book "Season of Glory" (Can't wait to start reading it!) Then Keller and I went home and cooked some soup and had a picnic in the front yard! Tyler got home and joined us for an hour or so and then it was nap time! All of us crashed! Keller first though, sitting up playing with her toys! We then took a walk around the neighborhood and had some more soup! We then got to meet Lindsay's boyfriend, Carlton! Then off to sleepytown! Wow! after re-reading that we really did a lot this weekend!
