My sweet pea!

Raising up like a big girl!

My little bug is growing so fast! She's now 4 months old! Well, and a few days.. She's been so much fun! She's learning how to sit up by herself and when I lay her on her tummy, she lifts herself up and kicks her legs like crazy! She smiles all the time and loves to hear herself make noise. She absolutely LOVES football! The other day, I set her in her bouncy seat while I went to clean the bathrooms. She was watching a movie and being really quiet. Tyler walked through and changed the channel to a football game and she was still pretty quiet. Well, once they kicked off things changed! She squealed, kicked and yelled the entire game! She absolutely loves it! I have never had so much fun in my entire life! The first few weeks were a bit of an adjustment, but since then it's been nothing but a joy. When she wakes up in the morning, the first thing she does is smile, and just before she goes to sleep at night she's smiling! It's so wonderful to have such a happy baby! I look forward to every milestone every day! I bought her her first pair of blue jeans at Old Navy a couple of weeks ago and they have to be the cutest things I've ever seen! I can't wait to spend 4 whole days with her for Thanksgiving! I look forward to 5:00 everyday just to be able to see her! Am I infatuated? YES! She's my heart! I can't imagine loving anything more!

It's been a while!

Hello again!! Keller has arrived and is 7 weeks old now! HOLY COW! Time really does fly! I thought before I had her that when we got out of the hospital that I would keep up my blogging to keep everyone informed of our progress. Yeah, well...I didn't realize just how sleep deprived I would be! A friend told me a couple of days before I had her that I just needed to rest, rest, rest. I think I was a bit too anxious! Now is a different story! Oh, what I would do to be able to rest without one eye open! Anyway... Keller was born on July 13 at 6:03 p.m. She weighed 8 pounds and 12 ounces and was 20 inches long! We were scheduled to go the hospital Sunday night at 9:00 and as of Monday around 4:00 pm, things still had not progressed so we decided to go with a c-section. Honestly, looking back on it, I wouldn't have had it any other way! Everything went great! It was a strange feeling to be coherent and know that they were cutting me open! It's sad to say that I don't remember holding her or feeding her for the first time. I was still a little loopy!! The first thing I remember was when everyone was coming in the room with us to see her and my hand was shaking uncontrollably like I was really cold, but it was just the medicine wearing off. Everyone was so excited to see her and that she was finally here! We had a room full of visitors welcoming her into the world! She was passed around like a little football and she didn't mind at all! She just relaxed! She's such a good baby!! We ended up staying in the hospital until that Friday. I spiked a fever two days in a row and they made me go 24 hours without a fever before they would release me. And rest is not a possibility in the hospital.. The techs come in a bazillion times to check vitals, then the nurses are always in there, then the baby needs to be fed...etc, etc.. I was really glad to be going home! It made a huge difference in how I felt just to be home! The first couple of weeks were very trying! Sleepless nights galore!! Things are much better now! Tyler and I rotate feeding times so it's not so hard on either of us. The first time she slept 4 hours in a row it scared me! I woke up at 3:30 and she was still asleep, I thought for sure I'd slept through her crying, but I hadn't. I actually got up and put my finger under her nose to make sure she was still breathing!! Pitiful, I know!

She changes more and more each day! I'm going to try to keep this updated as best I can!

6, 5, 4, 3, 2......

The countdown has officially begun! I will be admitted to Springhill Memorial at 8:00 pm on Sunday night and they are scheduled to induce me on Monday morning! FINALLY!! We get to meet our little girl! Tyler is just beside himself! We had our last appointment this morning where we had an ultrasound and our regular exam. The ultrasound was so much fun! I just love 'em! Our ultrasound tech, Ms. Paula, said she looked like she was around 7 lbs, 11 ounces as of today. So, by Monday she should be around 8 lbs. Let's just hope! A friend of mine had a dream, or should I say a nightmare that she was 13 lbs! AHHH!!!! She did another short 4-D scan of her! She's got fat little cheeks and big lips and she has a ton of hair! Goodness, I can't wait to see her!! The doctor checked the schedule for tonight and tomorrow to see if we could possibly induce earlier than planned since she's fully developed, however the schedule was full... I guess that's a good thing seeing as how we have family that really want to be here and have a little bit of a drive to make. So, it makes it a little easier on others that she'll be here Monday instead. She's still a little bit of a wiggle worm! I think she's knockin telling me to let her out! At the appointment last week, he wanted to listen to her heart beat, well, when he put the machine on my belly, she poked back at him 3 times! I thought that was pretty funny! Anyways, we're getting really excited!! I'll post the 4-D picture that Tyler took today later when he gets done working and can email it to me! Ya'll feel free to scoot by the hospital!

12 days and counting...

I'm already ready already!! Everything is done at the office, the house is relatively clean, Keller's nursery is done, I just have a load of her clothes to still wash. I really want to go to church tonight, but I'm already dragging my feet today.. I didn't sleep well last night. Bed, chair, bed, chair, couch... It's difficult to fall asleep sitting up! Theresa (at work) says I'm having this baby tonight! She said she knew it when I was at work by 8:30 this morning! I'm supposed to be here by 8:00, but since I haven't been feeling so well and now I seem to have a bit of difficulty doing just the daily routine. I woke up on the couch at 7:30 and zoomed through the shower, got dressed and flew to the office. Granted, I could have taken my time and gotten here a little later, but I don't want to be ridiculous about it! Right now, I'm really wanting some mexican food and a nap! Thank goodness it's fajita night at San Miguels! That's our Wednesday tradition...church, then to San Miguels with the Howard's. It's been fun, not to mention great company! They are such a blessing in our lives! We've missed quite a few Wednesday's here recently due to the fact I'm exhausted all the time, however, we actually made it last Wednesday! We've really enjoyed the sermons, and it stinks that we're gonna miss a few more when baby girl gets here, but it'll all be worth it in the end! Thank goodness they do CD's! =) In 12 days or less we're gonna have a baby!! I'm getting pretty excited! I wouldn't expect too many more blogs in the near future! (for obvious reasons!)

Nearing the finish line!

Gotta love those doctors visits! OMG! And they have to do that every time I go in now until she’s born! GOOD LORD! I hope she comes before next Tuesday! That was painful! I now, I know…TMI… =) Everything went good at the doctor. Our next appointment is next Tuesday, at which I will have another ultrasound to determine her size and weight. Doc says depending on how big she is I may have to have a C-section. Yuck! However, whatever’s best for her! They also went ahead and scheduled to induce on the morning of the July 13th. Our ultrasound tech seems to think she’ll be here way before then! YAY!! She originally set us for the 11th, and when we told her the 13th today she looked at us like we were crazy! I told her we scheduled an ultrasound for next Tuesday and she said that she could possibly be here before then, since I’ve “dropped.” There we go with that word again! Lol.. The full moon is on the 7th of July, so we’ll see!

Anyways, another subject please! We finished the nursery!! The furniture arrived safe and sound and the guys got it all put together, then we got to play! Re-arrange and hang pictures and wash her clothes and put them away, etc, etc, etc! It was quite fun! Ok, so my fingers are getting numb, so that's it for today! More to come!

Ready, Ready, Ready!

Ok, so I'm quite overwhelmed by the presence of God this morning... Sitting in my office, I hear a song that I've heard and sang a hundred times or more, but it was new and fresh and needed! Wow, He absolutely amazes me at how His word is so alive and just as relevant today as is was 2000 years ago! And, no it's not just pregnancy hormones! I know the difference!! =) Simply amazing! Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come!!

Anyway, I'm super excited right now seeing as how Keller's furniture is in and will be here this weekend! Talk about stress relief! Well, not exactly.. I wasn't stressed, just trying to figure out how to organize things so that I'll be able to find them when we get home from the hospital with her. Now, I can get things straight, pending the possibility of her arriving before then... Which would be ok, then mom and Pam could spend an evening in her room organizing before I get home! hehehe!! I'm sure they wouldn't mind! Seeing as how mom said she wanted to come "play" Saturday, when we're putting things in place and Pam is chomping at the bit to get here! These women are CRAZY!! =) Nah, they're really excited though! I can tell every time I talk to one of them! They want to know the progress of her room, her growth, her everything! It cracks me up! So, if Keller doesn't plan to come this weekend, I'll post nursery pictures when it's finished! Yay!!

Come on Friday!! =)

Ok, so any day now would be fabulous! I feel like all I get on here and do is complain! Geez... Sorry... Nah, things have really been good! I'm just to "that point," as people are calling it. It seems to everyone that I've "dropped," and now I think I'm beginning to feel what they mean. She's sitting directly on my pelvis, I think. It's becoming very uncomfortable to get up out of a chair or roll over in bed. It doesn't take much to wear me out!

This past weekend was probably my last big outing until Keller gets old enough to go! We went to the Steely Dan concert at the Wharf Friday night, and it was HOT!!! Then Saturday Tyler and I got up and went to Metairie, LA to swap out his iphone for the new one, shopped around at the mall there where Tyler bought the cutest outfit for Keller! I'm gonna have to see if I can find a picture of it on their website so ya'll can see it! Then we drove into New Orleans for a bit. We didn't do a whole lot of walking though. We finally decided to go find some dinner around 7ish. We were going to try The Redfish Grill on Bourbon & Canal, but they were closed for a private party, so we walked around and found a restaurant called La Bayou that was pretty darn good! Great food, great service, great pecan pie! =) Then on Sunday, we went to church, went to my parents where Tyler detailed dad's truck for Father's Day (and I mean he detailed it!!) It took him close to 4 hours! Then we went home and Mark came over for dinner. It was a very eventful weekend and I'm still exhausted... Well, my fingers are numb now, so no more typing! =)

Already ready already....

Hmmm.... So, today is Thursday, which means tomorrow is Friday! THANK GOD!! Only a few weeks away from meeting our sweet baby girl! I absolutely can't wait! This has definitely taught me a form of patience! The poor baby gets the hiccups a couple of times a day which is always a funny feeling! I think she's turned how she's supposed to be though, since what feels like her feet stay in my ribs and her little butt pokes out at the top of my stomach! It's going to be strange not to feel her in there after she's born! I'm sure I'll be focused on other things at that point though! We got her swing last night! I can't wait to put it together! I talked to Pam today and she said her furniture is looking like it'll be in in a couple of weeks. I can't wait! That will make her room look like a baby's room, not like a bomb just went off in the middle of the floor!! There's nowhere else to put any of her things! I've loaded up her closet and the bookcase... We've bought a couple of storage type things at Babies 'R' Us to help with the organization, but we've yet to get it all done! We definitely want to have things in place by next week at least. My next appointment is Thursday the 25th. We'll have our bags packed and be on go for whatever the doctor says! I've heard too many stories recently about going in for the 37 week appointment and the doctor getting you wheeled right across to the hospital! No passing "go," no collecting 200 dollars!! If you don't have your bags packed, oh well!! We're going to be prepared, or so we think! My bet is, once I get all "prepared" that he'll send me right on home and say everything looks fine..see ya next week! Not that it would be a bad thing, but geez... Can't you just send me to the hospital so I can meet her already!??! Anyway... To say the least, we're getting there! We went this week and got what we think to be the essentials that we didn't get at the showers like bath stuff, wipes, diapers, a swing, a few more burp cloths, etc.. Remember, this is our first go 'round! Any comments on things I may have missed are much appreciated! =) We are so excited!!!

Mom painted an adorable picture for her room! It's the picture I'm posting with this entry! It's going to hang over her crib! The characters names are George, GiGi, and Fisher. These guys have been around for most of the pregnancy! They have their own personalities that Tyler has made for them and can't wait to be able to introduce Keller to them! I'm sure she's gonna love them! We do! =) That's all for now!

Another day for you and me in paradise...

The weekend was fabulous, this morning...well, not so much...

I had my last 2 baby showers this past weekend and got lots of great things for Keller! It's so exciting getting things for her! Now I understand a little why moms and dads put themseleves on the back-burner, so to speak, to provide for their kids. And she's not even here yet! Geez... We don't have much longer! She's still kicking like crazy! Pam, Tyler's mom, came and cleaned our house this past weekend, which was a huge blessing! I get tired from simply sweeping the floors, not to mention my back aches to stand for too long.

This morning I woke up and my entire right arm was numb. There was nothing I could do to wake it up or get the blood flowing good, but wait. Tyler helped me get dressed and ready for work. Sweet, huh? =) It's better now, just my fingertips are numb from writing and typing today. I'm trying to decide when I want to start working just half days or just a few days a week or not at all... hmmm.... decisions, decisions... It's difficult enough to get up and down out of a chair, my fingers go numb when I type or write, I'm exhausted all the time again now, just like the first trimester. It sure would be nice to look forward to a relaxing weekend, but I know that's not gonna happen. We have our birthing class this Saturday from 8-3:00. That STINKS!!! Some people think we're crazy for taking it since I've opted for an epidural, however, I have a feeling I'm gonna need all the help I can get this first go 'round! Oh, and we're supposed to be going to see Steely Dan at the Wharf with my parents for Father's Day this Friday night. Maybe I should take all day friday off so Ican sleep all day and actually be coherent for the concert! I've been told that we will be sitting on bleachers.. That, my friends, is not pregnancy-friendly... =( Let's just hope I survive! I wonder if they have video monitors or speakers in the bathrooms? That would be nice, since that's where I'm sure I'll spend half the concert.. Oh the joys!

Well, Dad just walked in with some Snickers ice cream bars, so I think I'll take a break and chow down! Tootles!!

People Crack Me Up!

Ok, so apparently I've "dropped." Whatever the heck that means... My neighbor came over Saturday while I was outside painting the bookshelf and told me she thought I'd dropped. And that's totally fine, I see her a lot! However, since then, 3 other people have told me the same thing! Total strangers, mind you! A lady standing beside me at the Target return desk, a lady in the restroom at Atlanta Bread Company, and a cashier at Target! What the heck?! I've never even seen these people before! Maybe it's abnormal to look like I do! I dunno...

Anyway, the doctor's visit went well yesterday. All he did was the typical blood pressure, pee in a cup and measure the belly. I go back in 2 weeks. Then it's once a week after that... yuck..

I have 2 showers this weekend that I'm super excited about! It's so fun getting things for Keller! I can't wait to get her furniture in so we can get everything in it's place! For now, her closet is stacking up, which reminds me...I need to take a picture of it and put it on here! Ya'll would get a kick outta that! I'm really glad I finished that bookcase so now I have something to put some of her things on! I hope the folks coming to the shower on Sunday aren't disappointed in her room! The picture I'm posting with this entry is the furniture we have on order. Love it!

I gotta case of the blah's...

The weekend went well! Tyler got the living room painted and I sanded and painted a bookshelf to go in Keller's room (It was hot, after every side I painted my hand went numb, so I took 4 naps while attempting to finish!) Tyler thought it was pretty funny that he finished painting the living room in the time it took me to paint that shelf! I started feeling a little yucky this weekend, but hopefully it's only my sinuses and not a funky cold. I don't have time for a cold right now! I went to a friends baby shower on Sunday and listened to everyone ooh and ahh over boy stuff, and all I could think about was "man, I'm glad I'm having a girl! Girl stuff seems to be so much cuter!" That's terrible isn't it?! My mom hosted the shower and did a fabulous job as usual! I woke up this morning feeling yucky again, so I slept in and took it easy getting ready for work. Thank goodness I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow. Maybe he'll tell me I can take something besides Tylenol. That stuff stinks! It does absolutely no good for me.. grrr... I'm glad I came in today though! I got a lot done at work. It wasn't the typical busy Monday, it was actually kinda quiet for a change!

Pam and Pat, Tyler's mom and stepdad are coming in town this Thursday, I think. They're supposed to stay with us through the weekend and come to the showers. Well, Pam anyway! Pat and Tyler, well, let's just say boys will be boys.. I have no clue what they'll be up to!

Oh yeah! We got Keller's stroller and her pack 'n play Friday night! It's so exciting getting stuff for her! Her stroller is absolutely adorable! It's green and tan with all different color polka dots on it! It's on of the combo thingys that have the stroller and carseat. Tyler put the car seat in my car last night and I didn't know it. Well, I got in the car this morning and turned around to check for traffic and it scared me! Something to get used to! I'm assuming the stroller is in the trunk, lol! I got a closet organizer at babies r us Friday and started putting her closet together. This child needs a walk-in closet already! She has so many clothes!

Well, it's quittin' time!

There's a roly poly in my belly!

Somehow, through the hustle and bustle of a normal workday, .....scratch that...it's Friday! Nothing's normal about Friday's! Anyway, through the hustle and bustle of a workday, I seem to be absentminded enough to slightly "forget" I'm pregnant. I sit at my computer to type a quote, respond to an email or update my facebook status and all of a sudden I feel a Judo chop from Keller at my right rib, then another...as if to say, "Hey mom, scoot back from that desk some, you're squishing me!" Then, as a scoot back, as if I already didn't feel productive enough, I catch a view of the rest of my desk... watermelon, bottled water, babies r us coupons, and a fan. Now, how in the world could I have, for a second, forgotten about her! I have never felt anything like I feel now. It's the most incredible feeling! I'm sure you guys that have had kids are thinking to yourself, "yeah, well wait to you hold her for the first time!" I'm sure that will push me over the top!! However, the feeling now is indescribable. Sometimes it seems more pleasant than others. For instance, when she simply kicks or rolls over it's fine, when she decides to scrape her bony little elbow down my stomach or bury her butt in my ribs, well, that's another story! For the most part, I've enjoyed being pregnant. Overcoming the nausea in the beginning was a bit of a struggle, but since that's over it's been a pretty good road to travel! I haven't had any complications to speak of, and that in itself is the ultimate blessing. She seems to be growing at a normal pace! The ultrasound tech said at our first ultrasound that she was going to be long and lean with big feet! Now, how she could tell when Keller's the size of a string bean, I have no clue, but to this day she's stuck to her word! I still deal with the everyday weird feelings, like numb fingers, swollen ankles, a blotchy complexion, and the ever-growing belly. Which reminds me! I have had some of the funniest comments in the past couple of days! One of our customers that hasn't been here in a few weeks came in and was floored! He looked at me with an uncertain grin and said "Good God girl! You look like you're about ready to have that baby!" And then, last night in Target, we're walking down one of the aisles and a little boy that was walking with his mom looked at me, then looked at her and said "She has a big 'ol belly mama! Is she havin a baby?" His mom just smiled and nodded. I can't wait to hear what kind of crazy things Keller is going to say! We'll definitely have to be careful with our imitations of people that we do all the time.. I can see her going to school or daycare talking like Carla Tate from The Other Sister! Ok, well, enough for today! I'll be back next week! It's Friday guys! It's Friday!!!

Soon to become a family of 3!

Wow... Excitement, nervousness, joy, and peace... How can you feel all of this at once is what I've been asking myself for the past week. A baby...I repeat, a BABY is on the way! Baby Keller to be exact! Pregnancy has been such an interesting yet semi-frightening experience! I'm not an overly dramatic person, I take things as they come, and I'm not really a worrier. In fact, when we make our routine trips to the doctor to check on baby Keller, I think Tyler asks more questions than I do! However, this could stem from my ever-severe case of "baby brain," as I hear it's called. We are truly excited about the upcoming arrival of our baby girl! I had my first baby shower this week, hosted by my moms fabulous girlfriends, and I think it's all finally starting to sink in...

There was so much to be done and I think our "to-do list" is finally starting to dwindle down! Thank goodness since we don't have a whole lot of time left! Tyler got the nursery and the guest bedroom painted and we got the wood floors installed in both rooms! That's about the extent of what's done in her room. Her furniture is on order and may get here shortly after she's born, especially if she tries to make her grand appearance before July 11th! We have a few things to hang on the wall and a couple of pieces of furniture that were Tyler's when he was younger that we're going to try to paint this weekend (weather permitting..). If we at least get that done, maybe I'll feel a little better about things coming together! We found a rocker/recliner on our recent excursion to Jackson, MS for Tyler's birthday! That was his first gift to him, for her!

I have 2 showers coming up next weekend that I'm so excited about! One is being hosted by my parents neighbors and the other by some lovely friends at church! That one's at my house (so everyone could see the nursery), hopefully they won't be too disappointed since it will be practically empty! Her furniture is definitely worth the wait though! It's the Ravenna collection by Creations. BEAUTIFUL!! I'm really excited about it and can't wait to see it all put together!

Okay, so now that I feel like I'm rambling... I'm heading out to dad and Tyler's birthday dinner at Macaroni Grill! But I think I'll stop by Babies R Us first... =) It's an addiction! Ciao!
